The National Council received a presentation from Jamie Jones Miller, NPC Delegate, with a focus on national enrollment trends and how it relates to the Sorority’s strategic focus on membership growth.
The National Council finalized the agenda for the March 2-3, 2018, in-person meeting to be held in Pittsburgh, PA, at the site of the 42nd National Convention.

The National Council hosted a productive meeting covering a number of critical topics over the course of two packed days.
The Council completed the process for both their own annual self-evaluation and the annual evaluation of the Executive Director.
The Executive Director presented an organizational goals update including details regarding the Chapter Advisory Board restructure plans, chapter dashboards now available in Officer Portal, progress on the FY 2019 Budget creation, and recruitment data.
The National Council examined alumnae engagement and had an important discussion involving the future of National Alumnae Dues. More information regarding that discussion is forthcoming.
National President Tiffany Street facilitated a robust discussion to further advance the Sorority’s plans related to emerging leaders and preparing future members to serve on the National Council and high-performing Standing Committees.
The Executive Director provided a brief overview of Convention planning developments and conducted a walking tour of the hotel.
The Council advanced the recent conversations around the strategic area of growth and extension, evaluating information received on the two most recent conference calls and additional data shared during this meeting. Based on data and member feedback, growth and extension remains a strategic area of focus moving forward.
The Executive Director provided an update of potential National Service Partners to be added to the Alpha Sigma Tau Women’s Wellness Initiative.
The National Council advanced progress on the current Operational Plan and discussed additional items of work through Convention and into the fall of 2018, including National Council Orientation and other National Volunteer Orientation opportunities.
On Friday evening, the National Council hosted around 25 area alumnae from several chapters and collegians from the nearby Beta Delta Chapter at Duquesne University. The turnout was outstanding and the Council looks forward to reuniting with these and other Sisters when they return in June for Convention.
