Alpha Sigma Tau Closes Gamma Iota Chapter

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Council of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority has unanimously voted to close the Gamma Iota Chapter at York College of Pennsylvania. The closure is effective immediately and is a result of the chapter’s violation of the Sorority’s anti-hazing policies.

“Alpha Sigma Tau is committed to a safe and positive sisterhood, so we take a very firm stand against hazing and hazing-related behavior,” said Jim Paponetti, the Sorority’s Executive Director. ”Following a thorough investigation, we determined that chapter closure was the most appropriate course of action.”

Alpha Sigma Tau is a proud sponsor of the anti-hazing hotline that provides an anonymous telephone line for anyone to report a suspected or recent hazing incident. It is 1-888-NOT-HAZE.
