Alpha Sigma Tau is Growing! The Sorority Welcomes New Headquarters Staff

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority is excited to announce the hiring of three new staff members. Marlene Camacho and Jamie Bider, both Delta Upsilon, joined staff as new Educational Consultants in January and will start supporting chapters this spring. Michele Upright joined as Accounting Assistant in November.

Marlene is a recent graduate of Saint Leo University located in Saint Leo, Florida, where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in marketing. Marlene joined the Delta Upsilon Chapter in the spring of 2014. There, she served as Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Finance. Marlene was also heavily involved with other organizations on campus such as Saint Leo’s Panhellenic Council, Student Government Union – Executive Board, and in Residence Life as a Resident Assistant.

Jamie has a bachelor of arts degree in international hospitality and tourism management and minors in communications management and sports hospitality from Saint Leo University. She was initiated into Alpha Sigma Tau during the spring 2014 semester of her freshman year. Jamie had the pleasure of serving as Delta Upsilon’s Vice President of Member Development and Chapter President. She is excited to continue her Alpha Sigma Tau journey as an Educational Consultant and help our team make 2018 a successful year.

Michele worked in the staffing and health insurance fields for 12 years before coming to Alpha Sigma Tau. She also started working part-time with H&R Block during tax season in 2000 and still does, marking her 18th year with them this spring. In 2004, she went back to school at Kansas State University to get her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. There, she made the National Dean’s List and was honored with memberships in the Golden Key International Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.

“We are delighted to welcome Marlene and Jamie to the Member Services team, along with Michele to the Sorority’s Finance team,” said Jim Paponetti, Executive Director. “They each bring unique skill sets to the position, and I’m looking forward to the outstanding contributions they will all make to both the National Organization and the chapters they serve.”
