Past National Vice President Receives NPC Foundation Award

Past National Vice President Kristin Walker, Alpha Lambda, has been honored with the Women in Higher Education Achievement Award from the National Panhellenic Conference Foundation.

Dr. Walker is the Associate Director of Analytics and Initiatives for the Clemson University Center for Career and Professional Development. She served on the National Council from 2008 to 2016. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled “How Sorority Members Remember Acquiring the Skills Necessary to Navigate their Careers: A Narrative Inquiry.”

The NPC Foundation saw a big increase in nominations this year. But Dr. Walker’s ability to help collegiate members understand the relevance of their sorority membership in their professional lives made her nomination stand out.

“Being in a sorority teaches many skills needed to thrive in today’s world,” says National President Tiffany K. Street. “I am proud of Kristin’s work, which demonstrates this fact so well, and am thrilled that she has been recognized by the NPC Foundation for it.”

Dr. Walker will share her work during NPC’s annual meeting in October. Congratulations!
