Alpha Sigma Tau Announces Changes in its Headquarters Staff Team

Chapter Services Coordinator Kate Wehby, Gamma Xi, who served Alpha Sigma Tau in the collegiate chapter space since April 2014, will be departing Headquarters Staff effective May 3, 2019. Kate, who joined Alpha Sigma Tau’s Headquarters Staff after graduating with a master of science in college student personnel administration from Illinois State University, primarily worked with the implementation, execution, and evaluation of Sorority programs and services related to the health and safety of our members. Some of Kate’s most noteworthy accomplishments during her time on Headquarters Staff include:

  • Elevating GreekLifeEdu, our health and safety program for new members
  • Implementing Not Anymore, our online education program designed to educate members about consent, sexual assault, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships
  • Leading the creation of the chapter event contract review process
  • Supporting multiple collegiate chapters through remediation periods

Kate will be departing staff to pursue a career opportunity at a worldwide membership association where she will work to support high school students in their quest to develop and fine-tune their leadership skills. “We thank Kate for the many contributions she’s made to Alpha Sigma Tau,” says Angie Bong, Associate Executive Director of Member Services. “From helping chapters navigate challenging situations to enhancing the health and safety of our members, she has made a large and lasting impact on the membership experience. We wish her nothing but the best as she continues on to new and exciting opportunities.”

Chapter Services Specialist Emily Boockoff, Epsilon Sigma, who has served on the Headquarters Staff since 2016, will be departing Headquarters Staff effective May 3, 2019. Emily joined the Staff as an Educational Consultant after serving as a founding member and two-time president of her chapter at Bridgewater State University. After serving as an Educational Consultant for two years, Emily accepted the Chapter Services Specialist position with the Sorority. Some of Emily’s most noteworthy accomplishments during her time on Headquarters Staff include:

  • Leading the on-the-ground efforts to establish the Epsilon Phi Chapter at Winona State University and Epsilon Psi Chapter at Rowan University
  • Updating and revising many Sorority resources related to chapter operations

Emily will be departing staff to pursue a career in teaching. “Emily has been such an asset to Alpha Sigma Tau,” says Brittany Booth, Assistant Director of Chapter Services. “Over the past few years, Emily has made some large personal sacrifices for the benefit of the Sorority. From living on campus longer than expected to accepting re-assignments with short notice, she truly is a team player and Alpha Sigma Tau is better off from Emily’s role on staff. We look forward to seeing Emily bloom in her future endeavors in the classroom and working with her in a volunteer capacity in the future.”

Marlene Camacho, Delta Upsilon, who has served as Educational Consultant since 2017, will be departing Headquarters Staff, effective May 3, 2019. Marlene joined the Sorority’s staff after serving her collegiate chapter in the roles of Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Finance. A few of Marlene’s most noteworthy accomplishments during her time as an Educational Consultant include:

  • Supporting newly established Epsilon Phi Chapter at Winona State University
  • Supporting the strategy, messaging, and execution of Night to Reunite 2019
  • Updating and revising chapter budgeting resources (which will be introduced in fall 2019)

Marlene, who graduated with a bachelor of arts in marketing, is departing staff to pursue a career in marketing, her true passion. “Marlene brings so much spirit, forethought, and unique perspective to the team,” says Brittany. “Because of her passion for marketing, she truly had a way of helping the entire team think of initiatives, programs, resources, and challenges in a different way. We wish her nothing but the best as she pursues her calling in the marketing field.”
