Alpha Sigma Tau coming to Purdue University in Indianapolis in Fall 2026!

We are thrilled to announce that Alpha Sigma Tau will establish a new chapter at Purdue University’s expansion in Indianapolis.

Purdue University is a public research university ranked among the top 10 public universities in the United States. Between their main campus locations in West Lafayette and Indianapolis, more than 57,000 students call Purdue home.

The Indianapolis location is an expansion of Purdue University in West Lafayette, not a satellite campus. Purdue students choose Indianapolis for the chance to study in a vibrant city while finding opportunities to engage in their future careers and industries, such as motorsports engineering, AI, and hospitality and tourism management.

As a growing institution dedicated to the personal and professional success of its students, Purdue University in Indianapolis is the perfect fit for Alpha Sigma Tau.

Our new chapter will be Purdue’s first National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sorority in Indianapolis! We are excited to help start a vibrant community of Purdue women’s organizations in Indianapolis, doing so with the support of our local alumnae. Our Midwest chapters have a long history of strong Sisterhood and National engagement, and we are confident our new Purdue chapter in Indianapolis will follow in those footsteps.

“Purdue’s maker spirit—that drive to build something meaningful and lasting—is exactly what we look for in women who will shape a strong Sisterhood,” said National President Jamie Jones Miller (Psi 1995/James Madison). “With a passionate local alumnae network ready to support them and an outstanding campus team behind us, I’m confident this new chapter in Indianapolis will Define Excellence at Purdue University and within Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority.”

This chapter, Zeta Alpha, will be the fifth Alpha Sigma Tau chapter established in the state of Indiana since 1945. Alpha Sigma Tau has a strong base of alumnae and collegiate chapters in the Midwest, including those nearby at Trine University, University of Southern Indiana, IU South Bend, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

While recruitment won’t begin until Fall 2026, we will spend this summer assembling a Chapter Advisory Board (CAB), connecting with the Purdue community in Indianapolis, and inviting recommendations for potential new members ready to build a lasting sisterhood in the capital city of Indiana.
