As a new academic year begins, Alpha Sigma Tau would like to introduce a few additions to the Headquarters Staff and outline shifts in responsibilities for some existing staff members. A full Headquarters Staff listing can always be found online here.
Welcome to Alpha Sigma Tau!
Erin Snyder joins the staff as Chapter Services Coordinator, providing support for client chapters and Chapter Advisory Boards. Prior to joining the Alpha Sigma Tau staff, Erin served as the Coordinator of Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of Tampa. She earned her master’s degree in college student affairs administration from the University of West Florida and her bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity for women and currently volunteers for Phi Mu and other fraternal organizations. Erin is excited to begin engaging with undergraduate and alumnae members to maximize their sorority experience.
Amanda Wright joins the staff as a Chapter Services Coordinator, providing support for client chapters and wellness and safety initiatives. Before coming to Alpha Sigma Tau, Amanda spent five years working at the University of Kansas in roles with academic programs, equity and inclusion, and service-learning. Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Baker University, her Juris Doctor at Washburn University School of Law in 2011, and her master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas in 2015. Prior to her work in higher education, Amanda worked as an attorney in civil practice. Amanda is a member of Alpha Chi Omega and has served in volunteer roles as a Recruitment Specialist, Province Chair, and Chapter Advisory Board member. She currently volunteers as a National Chapter Advancement Specialist and Recruitment Advisor for her local chapter. Amanda will continue to work and live in Lawrence, Kansas, where she lives with her husband, two children, Jackson (4) and Olivia (5 months), and two cats. Amanda is looking forward to contributing to the success of Alpha Sigma Tau chapters while empowering members to be the best versions of themselves and to make choices that reflect their values.
Jacqueline Albert (Delta Upsilon 2016/Saint Leo) joins Alpha Sigma Tau Headquarters Staff as an Educational Consultant. Jacqueline obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in international tourism and hospitality management. While a collegiate member, Jacqueline served her chapter as Historian, Vice President of Growth, and Chapter President.
Cassie Buckalew (Beta Mu 2016/Salisbury) also joins the staff as an Educational Consultant. Cassie earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus on media production and minors in geography and creative arts. During her time as a collegian, Cassie served the Beta Mu Chapter as Historian and Parliamentarian and served Salisbury’s College Panhellenic as President her senior year.
Former Growth Specialist Sarah Pinkerton (Delta Pi 2012/Oglethorpe) will now serve in the chapter services space with an increased focus on chapter and individual financial health. Sarah will work with a select list of client chapters in all areas of chapter operations, but her programmatic focus will shift towards helping chapters maximize their financial health. She will oversee Billhighway, Parson Bishop, and CrowdChange and create resources and educational strategies for members and volunteers on best practices as they relate to chapter financial health. Sarah will also oversee a personal financial literacy online learning program that is set to launch this fall.
Jessa Albert (Delta Upsilon 2011/Saint Leo) shifts roles from Growth Specialist to Education Coordinator. In this position, Jessa will work to launch Alpha Sigma Tau’s online learning platform, the AΣT Learning Lounge, and develop an education strategy for officers, volunteers, and members. Jessa earned a bachelor’s in elementary education, and in 2018, she earned a certification in instructional design and technology. Jessa will graduate with a Master of Education in Instructional Design in 2020.
Former Educational Consultant Jamie Bider (Delta Upsilon 2014/Saint Leo) has been promoted to Chapter Services Specialist. In her role, Jamie will work one-on-one with select client chapters, assisting officers and advisors with all areas of operation.
In addition to overseeing Illuminate and working with select client chapters, Chapter Services Coordinator Alex Kennedy will now oversee Alpha Sigma Tau’s academic program. She will work to develop and educate members on resources related to academic success and execute goals related to Alpha Sigma Tau’s commitment to academic excellence.
In addition to her work with leading efforts related to recruitment and extension, Ashley Smith (Psi 2009/James Madison) will assume relationships with most licensed vendors and work to ensure Alpha Sigma Tau’s brand identity is protected.
Alpha Sigma Tau extends a sincere thank you to Ben Nemenoff and Michelle Zewe Markley (Alpha Tau 2009/Edinboro) for their time and talents working to advance the Sorority. Ben and Michelle departed staff in August 2019.
