Congratulations to this year’s Convention award winners!
This year, we are excited to announce our individual award winners ahead of the 46th National Convention. We are excited to honor the following Alpha Sigma Tau members and friends:
Dani Weatherford
Chief Executive Officer
National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)
McCrory Order of Interfraternity Excellence Award
The McCrory Order of Interfraternity Excellence Award honors an individual who has contributed outstanding service to the betterment of the fraternity/sorority system.
Over the last decade, Dani has committed her rare trifecta of skills—public relations savvy, legal acumen, and deep experience in higher education—to fostering a spirit of Panhellenic sisterhood across the sorority community. Under her leadership, the NPC has sharpened its identity and strengthened its voice on college campuses, in Congress, and in broader public conversations about the value of women’s-only organizations. She has also helped develop a more customized approach for NPC support, which is critical for many AΣΤ chapters that do not rely on structured recruitment to grow their memberships.

Learn more about Dani
Dani Weatherford serves as the National Panhellenic Conference’s Chief Executive Officer and works with the NPC Board of Directors to lead the nation’s largest organization advocating the sorority experience. During the past ten years, she has played a critical role in the work of the Conference, specifically when protecting the rights of sorority women to gather together and support one another at places like Harvard University and, most recently, the University of Maryland.
A lawyer by training, she brings extensive experience in higher education administration to her work at NPC. Prior to joining NPC, she served as an administrator at each of her alma maters, DePauw University and the Indiana University Maurer School of Law-Bloomington. In these roles, she collaborated with fellow administrators to determine strategic goals for the schools, developed key recruitment and communication campaigns, and led staff and alumni volunteers. She traveled extensively across the country to visit undergraduate campuses and developed relationships with faculty members, academic advisors and other administrators.
She is proud of her more than 25 years of volunteer experience for Delta Gamma. She has served as Advisory Team Chairman, Regional Collegiate Specialist, Region 4 Director, member of the Fraternity Nominating Committee, member of the Delta Gamma Structure Task Force and currently serves as a volunteer for the Delta Gamma Foundation.
Dani loves visiting zoos from coast to coast and for many years has been an active member of the steering committee for Indiana’s largest single day fundraising event, Zoobilation!

Thomas J. King, Jr. Award for Excellence
The Thomas J. King, Jr. Award of Excellence was established in 1996 to honor individuals who have made a significant impact on Alpha Sigma Tau but are neither members of Alpha Sigma Tau nor serving as Faculty Advisors.
From the very beginning, Austin has been a vital resource for the women of our Epsilon Omega Chapter at Iona University as they have navigated the new chapter experience. Throughout Epsilon Omega’s chapter establishment, he went out of his way to support Alpha Sigma Tau staff and volunteers, new members, and our newly installed Executive Committee. His commitment to ensuring our chapter’s success at Iona has been a boon, and Alpha Sigma Tau is excited to continue working with him as the chapter grows.

As the primary Fraternity/Sorority Advisor (FSA) on campus, he works with the entire FSL community and has presided over its exponential growth over the past three years. This includes leading a successful National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) expansion, which brought Alpha Sigma Tau to Iona’s campus this past fall.
Austin is a prior recipient of the Order of Omega Outstanding Advisor Award for his work with the Alpha Alpha Sigma Chapter at Iona, and was recognized with the 2025 Charlie Carlson Award, which honors a member of the staff, faculty, or administration who has generously given of themselves for the good of the students of Iona and who wholly embodies the mission of the University.
Austin is a proud brother of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and graduated from Iona in 2021 with a degree in political science and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA). He has taken to heart the mission and values of both his fraternity and university by serving as the staff moderator for two Iona in Mission Immersion trips to Ireland to complete service work surrounding homelessness and drug abuse.
Away from work, Austin is an avid golfer, sports fan, and enjoys the company of his close friends and family.
