Alpha Sigma Tau empowers women to excel in life by prioritizing opportunities for leadership development of our collegiate Sisters. Our collegiate members are leaders in their chapters, on their campuses, and in their communities, and they become alumnae whose leadership skills benefit them in their family lives, careers, communities, and passion projects.
Members develop leadership skills in a variety of ways through the Alpha Sigma Tau experience. Some skills are developed informally through holding officer positions, having difficult conversations with Sisters to hold them accountable, and learning how to work as a team with Sisters. Others are developed through our formal programs.
No matter the path taken, Alpha Sigma Tau makes members better leaders today than they were yesterday—all while being supported by Sisters.

Equipping our members with leadership skills employers want
Membership in Alpha Sigma Tau provides out-of-the-classroom opportunities for women to develop soft skills (those not defined by your technical knowledge or job role). More than 75% of hiring managers list soft skills high on their wish list. Alpha Sigma Tau gives members the outlet to develop, practice, and refine these skills so they’re more prepared for life after college.
Empowering our members to become financially savvy
Women face unique challenges when it comes to finances.

Alpha Sigma Tau wants to ensure our members have the tools they need to navigate their financial lives—both now as students and beyond college. We’re proud to provide MoneySmarts U to both our collegiate and alumnae members. MoneySmarts U is an interactive, self-paced online learning program that provides an ongoing curriculum based on each woman’s individual situation, needs, or goals. From taxes to budgeting to insurance to saving for major purchases, MoneySmarts U equips our members with the skills they need to be financially savvy.
