Recent Giving Our All Campaign Gifts Establish Three Scholarships for Alpha Sigma Tau members
The Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation is thrilled to announce the creation of three new scholarships—bringing our Sisterhood closer to a future where no Sister faces financial barriers to her education and dreams.
A scholarship from the Foundation can be the difference between a Sister finishing her degree, pursuing internships, and staying involved on campus and with her chapter. As education costs rise, the need for financial assistance has never been greater; however, thanks to our generous donors, the Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation is creating solutions. Since its inception, our scholarship program has awarded hundreds of scholarships, empowering women to succeed academically and professionally.
One of Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation’s Giving Our All campaign priorities is expanding scholarship offerings by establishing ten new scholarship funds—awarding more dollars to deserving Sisters to close the gap in rising college costs.
The newly established Mary Cannon Cabot Scholarship, Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger Memorial Scholarship, and Alpha Pi Chapter Scholarship are a powerful first step in advancing the Giving Our All campaign and creating life-changing opportunities for Sisters for generations to come.
Mary Cannon Cabot Scholarship

Mary Cannon Cabot (Delta Upsilon 2002/Saint Leo) was an avid supporter of the Delta Upsilon Chapter at Saint Leo University since its conception. She was initiated as an alumna alongside the founding member class, helping her to “fulfill a lifelong dream of service and sisterhood.” Since then, countless Delta Upsilon members found a Sister-friend in Mary (pictured middle).
The Mary Cannon Cabot Scholarship is designed to support collegiate members at Saint Leo University. It was generously established in her memory by Chief (Ret.) Robert Cabot, Ph.D. The Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Cabot for his support of scholarship among our Sisters and the Delta Upsilon Sisters who help keep Mary’s memory alive.
The first award for the Mary Cannon Cabot Scholarship will be offered during the 2026 scholarship cycle.

Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger Memorial Scholarship
Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger was a true trailblazer, committed to the pursuit of excellence, service, and the advancement of women in professions where they were often underrepresented.

Born in 1899, Dr. Felshin overcame numerous barriers to pursue her education. After immigrating to the United States, she pursued an education that culminated in her graduating from NYU Medical School in 1924—a remarkable achievement for a woman of her time. She married Dr. Morris Goldberger in 1925, and together they raised a family on Manhattan’s Upper West Side while sharing a medical practice on the Upper East Side.
Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Felshin pioneered fields such as fertility and allergy medicine. She left a lasting impact on countless families, championed women’s rights in the medical profession, and served her community selflessly. Her commitment to others reflects our Sorority’s core values.
The Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger Memorial Scholarship is designed to support alumnae enrolled in medical school and collegians enrolled in a pre-medical school track, with preference given to applicants in greatest financial need. It was generously established in her memory by Alicia Pais Raizen (Beta Theta 1980/St. Mary’s) and Dr. Mark Raizen, Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger’s grandson. The Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Raizens for their support of scholarship among our Sisters and their dedication to keeping Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger’s memory alive.
The first award for the Dr. Gertrude Felshin Goldberger Memorial Scholarship will be offered during the 2026 scholarship cycle.

The Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation would like to express their sincere gratitude for the support of scholarship among our Sisters.
The first award for the Alpha Pi Chapter Scholarship will be offered during the 2025 scholarship cycle.
