Sister Spotlight: Ryan Farrell, Delta Epsilon

Ryan had just been initiated in Delta Epsilon for a week when she suffered a near-fatal Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) while performing as a cheerleader. Despite nearly dying and enduring countless medical procedures, Ryan has rebounded with a full heart and now serves as a Survivor Speaker for the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, where she speaks to young people about the risks of TBI. “This is my happy zone,” says Ryan. “If my story makes a positive impact on just one person, that makes it worthwhile to me.”
In addition to all the doctors and nurses, Ryan credits her family for her progress. To her, this also includes her AΣT Sisters in Delta Epsilon. “I do not know what I would have done without my Sorority Sisters,” says Ryan. “They provided such strong support for my family while I was in the ICU, and made sure my room was covered floor to ceiling in AΣT flair and picture frames! They were really there for us.”
You can read more about Ryan’s story on the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts website.
