National Council Update – February 2015

January 16 & 17, 2015

The National Council spent two days in Nashville, Tennessee, for their second in-person meeting of the term.

The Council invited Pat Nayle, Board of Trustees Chair, Shauna Jackson, Nominations Committee Chair, and Theresa Gallo-Osorio, Governing Documents Committee member to join them for the meeting and provided valuable time for collaboration and planning.

The Sorority’s investment broker provided an overview of the Sorority’s investment portfolio.

Ben Nemenoff, Director of Marketing and Communications, used a portion of the meeting to host two marketing focus groups: one with the National Council and one with the committee members and Kris Haskin, Foundation President, and Beth McOsker, NPC Delegate.

The National Council advanced the work of their operational plan for their term, particularly in areas of the National Council Evaluation Process and the National Council Member Vacancy Procedure.

The Executive Director provided an overview of the progress on the Organizational Operational Plan.

Kris Haskin, Foundation President, provided an overview of the Foundation’s progress.

Strategic conversations relating to organizational partnerships and matters such as single sex status protection and sexual assault helped to advance efforts in these areas.

January 29, 2015

The National Council adopted a revised Capitalization Policy.

The National Council adopted a revised Governance Policy and amended the National Council Group and Meeting Norms.

The National Council adopted a policy outlining the Executive Director’s responsibilities related to Headquarters Staff policies.

The National Council affirmed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation.

The National Council adopted a revised meeting schedule through July 2015.

The National Council reviewed the January 2015 National Council Meeting Evaluation results.

February 4, 2015

​The National Council adopted the National Council Vacancy Plan of Action.

​The National Council responded to a request for information from the Nominations Committee.
