Alpha Sigma Tau Closes Gamma Chi Chapter
For Immediate Release
October 16, 2015
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Council of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority has unanimously voted to close the Gamma Chi Chapter at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. The closure is effective immediately and is a result of the chapter’s violation of the Sorority’s anti-hazing policies.
“Alpha Sigma Tau is committed to a safe and positive member experience, so we take allegations of hazing very seriously,” said Jim Paponetti, the Sorority’s Executive Director. ”Following an investigation, chapter closure was determined to be the most appropriate course of action.”
Alpha Sigma Tau is a proud sponsor of the anti-hazing hotline that provides an anonymous telephone line for anyone to report a suspected or recent hazing incident. It is 1-888-NOT-HAZE.
