Call for National Service Partners

To continue expanding our impact on the world around us, Alpha Sigma Tau is seeking recommendations for National Service Partners to join our National Philanthropy, the Women’s Wellness Initiative.

The National Council is specifically looking for non-profit organizations that serve underrepresented populations of women—particularly Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC)—in the mission-driven work of women’s wellness.

Before you get started, here are some things you need to know regarding Alpha Sigma Tau’s National Service Partner parameters:

  • Recommendations may only be completed by members of Alpha Sigma Tau. At this time we are not seeking outside party submissions. Any new member, collegiate member, or alumna member may submit a recommendation.
  • The recommending member must have some direct volunteer experience with the organization she is recommending, at either the local, regional, or national level.
  • The organization must have opportunities for direct, hands-on service from Alpha Sigma Tau members. The organization may not solely offer fundraising opportunities.

Mission Alignment

  • The organization must have clear mission alignment with Alpha Sigma Tau and to the Women’s Wellness Initiative as outlined by the Six Dimensions of Wellness. A primary focus or a key program of the organization must be in service to women or girls.
  • At this time, Alpha Sigma Tau is specifically looking for recommendations of organizations that have an intentional focus of support to BIPOC women.

Geographic Alignment

  • The organization must have local access opportunities for service for at least one-third of Alpha Sigma Tau collegiate and alumnae chapters/associations. (Key target markets include Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Virginia, as examples.) You may find a sortable listing of Alpha Sigma Tau locations here: https://alphasigmatau.org/members/find-a-chapter/

Clarity of Need

  • The organization must be able to express clarity of needs, both volunteers needed/wanted and financial commitment from potential partners.

Staffing and Support

  • Organizations must have some identifiable professional, paid staff serving the organization to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities as it relates to partnership infrastructure and sustainability.

The following application must be completed in full for the organization to be considered. Review of submissions will begin October 1, 2020.
