DonnaMarie Grenier Scholarship
The DonnaMarie Grenier Scholarship is named in honor of DonnaMarie Grenier (Beta Tau 1984/UMass Lowell). It is reserved for members involved in the study of nursing.
About Donna Marie Grenier-Romano
A beloved wife and mother of two, DonnaMarie Grenier was a 23-year veteran of the Navy and Naval Reserves. Passionate about nursing, she served in the Navy Nurse Corp and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. DonnaMarie earned her bachelor’s in nursing at University of Massachusetts Lowell and continued her education by earning a master’s degree from Boston College.
DonnaMarie worked as an adult nurse practitioner and manager at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Chelsea Health Center. She taught CCD, helped establish a parish nurse program, had a small business making crafts and gift baskets and was an active member of Alpha Sigma Tau.
Though DonnaMarie passed away in 2003, her legacy lives on through the DonnaMarie Grenier Scholarship. Through this scholarship, Alpha Sigma Tau members are empowered to become the nurses we critically need for tomorrow.
