About Melinda Henry Oates

Melinda Henry Oates is a longtime Sorority volunteer and has served in National Council roles, alumnae group officer roles, and more. She is currently a member of the Gamma Gamma Chapter Advisory Board and the President of the Birmingham Alumnae Association. She is also a steadfast Foundation supporter, making her first gift in 1990 and establishing this scholarship in 2015 exclusively for Gamma Gamma Chapter members at UWA. Her Sisters describe her as an inspiring force who works every day to strengthen Alpha Sigma Tau and lead the way when it comes to promoting sisterhood and living our values.
