Michael Pyszka Scholarship

The Michael Pyszka Scholarship is named for Michael Pyszka, son of Debi Pyszka (Alpha Nu 1969/Central Missouri). This award is reserved for a member of Alpha Sigma Tau or the child or grandchild of a member of Alpha Sigma Tau for the purpose of an academic semester abroad.

About Michael Pyszka

Michael was born Dec. 26, 1979, the son of Robert and Deborah Pyszka in Kansas City, Mo. He attended Blue Springs High School, where he was an Eagle Scout, played soccer and played trombone in the band. He graduated with honors from Hononegah High School in Rockton, Ill., in 1999, before attending Colorado College, where he graduated with a degree in international political economy in 2003. In the 1996-97 school year, he was an exchange student in France. Michael had such an impactful experience while he was abroad that it led to the purpose of this scholarship: for a member to spend a semester immersed in another country’s culture.

Michael passed away on November 10, 2010. His legacy continues through the Michael Pyszka Scholarship.
