About Nannie Rudd Evans
Nannie Rudd Evans is the biological sister of Charlotte Evans Floyd (Psi 1947/James Madison). “Nan” was a long time member of the Windcrest United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Nan served in the Army Medical Specialist Corps as a dietitian for thirty years. Her career included service at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington D.C., three tours in Germany, as well as Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Monmouth, New Jersey; Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort McPherson, Georgia; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
After retiring from the Army, she inspected nursing homes in San Antonio with the Texas Department of Health for 13 years. Nan graduated from Madison College (James Madison University) in 1941. She received A.D.A. approved Dietetic Intership, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI in 1942, and received her Masters degree in Institution Management from Cornell University in 1951.
Nannie Rudd Evans’ legacy lives on in Alpha Sigma Tau through this scholarship.
