Advisor Spotlight: Ronica Jackson, Epsilon Beta

Ronica Jackson

Alumna of and Chapter Advisor for Epsilon Beta (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley)

Why Ronica Serves

I volunteer as an advisor because I want to give back to the Sorority that helped me become the woman I am today. When I was shy and struggled with low self-esteem, Alpha Sigma Tau helped me find my confidence. When I failed at something or was too scared to be a leader, AΣT showed me how to be successful and become a leader. When I struggled with life challenges, my Sisters have always been there for me. As an advisor, I get the chance to pass on everything that I have gained from AΣT. I love mentoring and watching the Sisters of the Epsilon Beta Chapter become strong, successful women.

About Ronica

Outside of Alpha Sigma Tau, I work with Houston Methodist Hospital in patient access but my passion is fashion. I recently started my own clothing line, Ronica Marie Couture. Along with my clothing line, I am a hair and makeup artist. I also volunteer with the StandUp for Kids organization, where we help teenagers stay off the streets and assist young adults that are homeless.

About Advisor Appreciation Month

Each April, Alpha Sigma Tau celebrates our invaluable advisors who work on the front lines of our collegiate chapters.

Throughout the month of April, we will showcase Alpha Sigma Tau advisors here and on the Sorority’s social media. This is just one way way we seek to salute advisors like Ronica, who work tirelessly to ensure that their chapters are better off today than yesterday, and most importantly, set them up for tomorrow’s success.

As we move through Advisor Appreciation Month, keep an eye peeled on this website to learn more about other advisors. Also be sure to follow along on social media with #ASTadvisor. There, you can see chapters recognize their advisors and share personal stories of how an advisor made an impact in their lives.
