Advisor Spotlight: Sarah Tweedale, Delta Nu
Sarah Tweedale
Alumna of and Chapter Advisor for Delta Nu (Beloit College)
About Sarah
I came to Beloit College as a Hall Director right after my own graduation and have been working there for four years, now in our Office of Intercultural Affairs.
Why Sarah Serves
As a young professional working on a college campus, I’ve found such a great community as an advisor and “big Sister” figure to the women of the Delta Nu Chapter. It’s great to be able to share my experiences, insights, and ideas with them, and to help them grow in their relationships with each other and the roles they play on campus and in the world. I work closely with a few members of the Executive Committee to mentor them and be an outlet for them. I’ve also gained a lot from connecting to our Chapter Advisory Board and have appreciated the way that more seasoned advisors have been mentors to me as both an Alpha Sigma Tau and young professional.
Delta Nu recently nominated me for our campus’ “Outstanding Greek Advisor of the Year” award, which I was presented with at our Greek Gala a few weeks ago. It is so wonderful to be recognized and celebrated by them in a similar way to how I try to elevate them for their accomplishments!
About Advisor Appreciation Month
Each April, Alpha Sigma Tau celebrates our invaluable advisors who work on the front lines of our collegiate chapters.
Throughout the month of April, we will showcase Alpha Sigma Tau advisors here and on the Sorority’s social media. This is just one way way we seek to salute advisors like Sarah, who work tirelessly to ensure that their chapters are better off today than yesterday, and most importantly, set them up for tomorrow’s success.
As we move through Advisor Appreciation Month, keep an eye peeled on this website to learn more about other advisors. Also be sure to follow along on social media with #ASTadvisor. There, you can see chapters recognize their advisors and share personal stories of how an advisor made an impact in their lives.
