This year, we’re All In for Alpha Tau.
We owe it to ourselves, to the women who came before us, and to the women who need our incredible Sisterhood for generations to come.
In 2024, Alpha Sigma Tau celebrated 125 years of Sisterhood–an incredible feat, given all that has happened during that time!
The last four years have been challenging ones. With a pandemic, decreasing college enrollment, increasing cost of living, and polarizing social and political climates, our members have struggled with the mental and emotional toll of it all. But Alpha Sigma Tau is still standing—and so are you!
If Alpha Sigma Tau is to continue inspiring and empowering women to learn, grow, and develop lasting friendships, you need to go All In for Alpha Tau this year.
Our three bold goals!
Goal 1 Welcome 1,899 new Sisters this year
Let’s welcome as many women as possible into our Sisterhood!
Goal 2 Ensure our new members become Alpha Sigma Tau initiates
Let’s make every new member feel so welcome that she can’t imagine calling anywhere else home.
Goal 3 Increase the number of collegians joining our alumnae ranks
Let’s create a membership experience so enriching and worthwhile that no Sister will want to quit.
How our Sisterhood is growing in 2024-2025!

Potential new members referred to a chapter
Chapters at or above campus total or semester growth goal (as of 4/10/25)
Chapters that have retained 90+% of their collegiate members so far in Spring 2025 (of 74)
Shoutout for being All In!

Upsilon/Central Arkansas
The Upsilon Chapter welcomed 56 new members home on Bid Day and are the largest chapter on campus!

Delta Theta/Moravian
Our Delta Theta Chapter welcomed 5 new members via continuous open bidding (COB) to reach campus total.

Phi/Southeastern Louisiana
Our Sisters at Phi matched above quota during recruitment and welcomed new members via COB to reach campus total.
Go All In for Alpha Tau—make a promise!
On November 4, we celebrated our 125th Anniversary as a Sisterhood. From “eight great girls” in Ypsilanti to nearly 60,000 great Sisters worldwide, Alpha Sigma Tau has grown thanks to the commitment of thousands of women who have come before us.
Now, we need to do our part to ensure that Alpha Sigma Tau’s legacy continues for future generations.
In 2024, we asked our members to go All In for Alpha Tau and give an extra 5%. To continue our 125th Anniversary celebrations, we want to solidify these actions into promises.
What promise can you make to Alpha Sigma Tau this year?
What will be part of your AΣΤ legacy?

She is also willing to share her knowledge and advice with others, serving as an advisor panelist for Officer Academy 2024 and a committee member for the Governing Documents Committee. Additionally, she is a dedicated supporter of the Upsilon Chapter Scholarship!
Callie encourages her Sisters to go All In because “the reach you can have by investing in this organization and its members can have a lasting impact that will positively influence others for years to come.”

She has been integral to piloting and launching our Member Support and Accountability Process, from developing training and resources to serving as a primary contact for pilot chapters. Additionally, Jenni led the AΣΤ Excel program in June 2023 and serves as an Emotional Intelligence facilitator!
When asked why she goes All In, Jenni said, “I am confident that my efforts and energy will make a positive difference in both the individual and collective experiences of my Sisters. Whether it’s heading to campus for recruitment, a chapter business meeting, or a brainstorming session with an officer, I feel that my time is well-spent.”

Spotlight: Collegiate Chapters
In August 2023, collegiate chapters were given individual growth goals based on their chapter’s potential for welcoming new members. These goals were aimed at helping chapters contribute to our All In for Alpha Tau goal: welcoming 1,899 new members across our chapters in the 2023-2024 academic year.
At the end of the academic year, we had 13 chapters that went above and beyond to meet their growth goals in both the fall and spring semesters.
Thank you to those chapters for going All In for Alpha Tau! We can’t wait to see what you contribute to our SIsterhood next.

A longtime Sorority volunteer and Foundation supporter, Melinda currently serves on the Chapter Advisory Board for the Gamma Gamma Chapter at the University of West Alabama, where she works hard to help our collegiate members build and maintain sisterhood while representing our values.
Additionally, Melinda has established a scholarship through the Foundation to support Gamma Gamma Chapter members academically! Her nominators said, “She inspires me anytime we are together.”
She is also the President of the Birmingham Alumnae Association. Her nominators said, “I don’t know if our alumnae group would be so strong if it weren’t for Melinda.” Melinda is also the association’s delegate to the Birmingham Alumnae Panhellenic, where she has taken on many leadership roles.
When it comes to being All In, Melinda says, “I have never stopped giving back and I want to make sure that other women get to experience the love and support that I have received from our bonds of Sisterhood. If I had not joined, I would have missed out on traveling, memories, friendships, and Sisters who are more than friends in my life.”

From the moment she graduated, Jamie has been a National volunteer, previously serving as an NPC delegate, a Panhellenic Specialist, and a National Vice President among other roles. As the Sorority enters its 125th year, Jamie enters her third term as National President.
In addition to being dedicated to the Sorority, Jamie and her husband, Dr. Tim Miller, have been fervent supporters of the Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation. They were even inaugural members of the Anchor Society!
When it comes to encouraging her Sisters to be All In for Alpha Tau, Jamie says, “Alpha Sigma Tau’s strengths lie in our members. If every member gave just a little more of their time, talent, and treasure, the collective impact would propel us forward into our next 125 years. Let’s be the living legacy of our Founders and honor the pledge we take to contribute our share to the progress of humankind.”

At the 45th National Convention this summer, Katherine retired as a National Vice President—a role she’d held since 2017, among many others—and immediately joined the AΣΤ Foundation Board. She also received the Ada A. Norton Award, which honors an alumna who, through longevity, has demonstrated outstanding service to the Sorority in an effective, creative, and dedicated manner.
Her continued commitment to the Sorority is no surprise to those who know her. Her nominator said, “Everything Katherine does comes from a passion for sisterhood and it shows. I am so grateful for her desire to push the Sorority forward and her ideas on how to continue connecting Sisters.”
When it comes to being All In, Katherine said, “I believe in the promise and magic of our Sisterhood! AΣΤ has given me so much sisterhood, personal growth, and professional development. I now work to contribute my share to our Sisterhood as a way to give back to the Sorority that has given me so much. I want future generations of women to have a healthy, safe, values-based Sisterhood to join.”

Spotlight: Jim Paponetti
Jim Paponetti, Alpha Sigma Tau’s first Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, has announced his departure from the Sorority staff at the end of 2024. Alpha Sigma Tau is proud to honor Jim with the All In for Alpha Tau Award in celebration of his more than 15 years of service to the Sorority.
In 2009, Jim Paponetti was hired as Alpha Sigma Tau’s first Executive Director. In this role, Jim facilitated the Sorority’s operational transformation: supporting a strategic-focused National Council, growing the professional staff, embracing our history and traditions, and building the infrastructure that allowed the Sorority’s impact to be accelerated in the lives of our members.
Each day since then, Jim has been All In for Alpha Tau. As Chief Executive Officer, his leadership has propelled the Sorority’s strategic direction forward in numerous areas: the Illuminate program, the Women’s Wellness Initiative, our Philosophy on Inclusive Learning Environments, Officer Academy, AΣΤ Excel, alternative revenue streams, and effective volunteer utilization. He has been a strong sorority advocate through his leadership within the National Panhellenic Conference and across the fraternity/sorority community. He has embodied our core value of Excellence, and with his absolute rejection of mediocrity, he has inspired all of us to expect more from ourselves and one another.
Since 2015, Jim has also served as the CEO of the Alpha Sigma Tau National Foundation, directing the creation of a robust charitable giving program that allows thousands of donors the opportunity to support the Sorority’s efforts financially. Personally, Jim has consistently been one of the Foundation’s most generous donors and was one of six inaugural members of the Anchor Society.
Throughout his 15 years of service, Jim has demonstrated his belief in the power of Alpha Sigma Tau to change lives. It is impossible to name all the ways he has contributed his share. Jim has become part of the fabric of AΣT. As Jim departs from the CEO role in December 2024, we sincerely thank him for his inspirational leadership and tireless dedication to Alpha Sigma Tau.
