Transformative Support: Charlotte Floyd Makes Largest Planned Gift in Foundation History

When she arrived at college, farther away from home than ever before, Charlotte Evans Floyd (Psi 1947/James Madison) did what so many of our Sisters have done—found her home away from home in Alpha Sigma Tau. 

After graduation, that home never left her heart, and Charlotte went on to serve both our Sorority and the Foundation in several capacities. Even with a busy career in the federal government sector, Charlotte always found time to open up her heart and home to Sisters, whether for official Sorority business or simply time to gather together for fun. From leading the Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter to her twenty years spent as Secretary of the Foundation, she was a beloved figure in Alpha Sigma Tau. 

And yet, supporting Alpha Sigma Tau in the present moment wasn’t enough for Charlotte, as she wanted to ensure her contributions would continue to impact her Sisters. She believed so deeply in the future of our Sorority that she added the Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation to her estate plans, and just made the largest planned gift in our Foundation’s history—an act that will shape generations of Sisters to come. 

With her planned gift, she sought to ensure that her Sisters would experience the same life-changing opportunities that she valued and found in Alpha Sigma Tau.
