Advisor Appreciation Month

Your Chapter Advisory Board members give it all. Their many roles include professionals, partners, mothers, community members, and more. And all of them also find the time to be a volunteer for Alpha Sigma Tau.

Our advisors have given their time to ensure your success in some pretty difficult times, and throughout April, we challenge you, our collegiate members, to thank them for their time, energy, and talents.

Here are some ideas on how you can show your love for your advisors this month:

Give a thoughtful gift

A gift is a great way to show your thanks! We worked with the Emerald Boutique to make some custom advisor gear, including an advisor shirt where you can even add your chapter name! Or you could buy them an advisor dangle or the Badge pennant necklace. Consider giving your advisors one or more of these gifts:

Share your thanks on social media

Utilize your chapter’s social media outlets to let the world know how awesome your advisors are! Have your officers take a video of themselves thanking your advisors and share on social media. Don’t forget your Faculty and Fraternity/Sorority Advisors, too! Tag us and use #ASTAdvisor so we can follow along!

Treat them to their local spot or something useful

Do you know their favorite local restaurant or coffee shop? Consider buying a gift card to their favorite spot, so they can enjoy it later. You’ll also be supporting local businesses during this time of uncertainty.

Write a thoughtful note

A handwritten note goes a long way in today’s digital world. Get your officers together virtually and/or assign each Executive Committee member an advisor to write a thank you note on behalf of the chapter/Executive Committee. And if your advisors have busy family lives, consider writing a thank you note to their families for their support. If you don’t have your advisors’ home addresses, use the “Find a Sister” feature in AΣT Connect.

Offer a helping hand

Advisors are busy people who juggle multiple responsibilities! Brainstorm ways to help them out and show your support. If they have school-aged children, can you support one of their fundraisers? If they’re into fitness, can you cheer them on at their next 5k or marathon?

Spend some quality time

Make your advisors feel special by inviting them to a surprise “Thank You Advisors” Zoom call! Set up a time to chat and simply get to know each other better or have an activity planned. No sorority business or shop talk – just relaxing moments spent between Sisters and friends.

Thank you for your help in showing gratitude to these hardworking volunteers! If you have any other questions or need ideas on how you can thank your advisors, reach out to and she’ll be happy to help!
