Carol Mooney retires as Chief Panhellenic Officer
Alpha Sigma Tau would like to give special recognition to Carol Mooney (Alpha Lambda 1970/Radford), who will be stepping down as Chief Panhellenic Officer. Carol has been a dedicated advocate for Alpha Sigma Tau in the Panhellenic community since 2002. She began her service on the Sorority’s National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) delegation that year and most recently held the role of Chief Panhellenic Officer (CPO), providing vital leadership and representation at the national level.
In addition to her work with collegiate chapters, Carol is a passionate champion of the alumnae Panhellenic experience. She has served on the Alumnae Panhellenic Committee since 2002 and led the committee as chair from 2014 to 2018.
Carol has also generously shared her time and expertise in a variety of other volunteer roles within the NPC. Her contributions have included reviewing College Panhellenic Awards criteria, evaluating applications for Centennial scholarships, and most recently, chairing the selection committee for the Harriet Macht Outstanding Alumnae Panhellenic Award.
Carol’s contributions have helped our chapters and alumnae groups be the best possible representatives of Alpha Sigma Tau in Panhellenics across the country. As Carol steps down from the CPO role, we’re excited to see how she continues to support and contribute to Alpha Sigma Tau and the Panhellenic experience.

Effective July 1, 2025, Jessa Albert (Delta Upsilon 2011/Saint Leo) will assume the role of Chief Panhellenic Officer.
Jessa currently serves as Alpha Sigma Tau’s Director of Chapter Volunteer Development and has worked for the Sorority since 2017. Throughout her time at Alpha Sigma Tau, she has worked closely with collegiate chapters and Chapter Advisory Board members, supported chapter operations, growth, and retention strategies, and developed multiple educational initiatives to benefit our members.
The CPO is supported by a team of Panhellenic Specialists who work to assist Alpha Sigma Tau chapters with RFM expectations and policies, campus recruitment structures, College Panhellenic Association rules, and more. We’d like to thank our dedicated volunteers serving in this role:
- Cassie Buckalew (Beta Mu 2016/Salisbury)
- Jen Cohen (Gamma Rho 2005/Seton Hall)
- Benna Curole (Delta Pi 2016/Oglethorpe)
- Jordan Frederking (Upsilon 2012/Central Arkansas)
- Bethany Yost Lestochi (Beta Delta 2012/Duquesne)
- Emily Boockoff Portway (Epsilon Sigma 2014/Bridgewater State)
- Victoria Seader (Gamma Tau 2013/Lebanon Valley)
- Joanne Rupprecht Walter (Psi 2002/James Madison)
Their work ensures our chapters are equipped to be active and positive participants in the College Panhellenic Association, with members who can grow the Panhellenic community while ensuring Alpha Sigma Tau’s voice and interests are represented.
