Dress for Success, an Alpha Sigma Tau National Service Partner, has welcomed a new CEO!
Michele C. Meyer-Shipp began her new role on February 16th, succeeding former CEO Joi Gordon. Over the past two years, Meyer-Shipp has been named as one of The Network Journal’s “25 Influential Black Women in Business” and Business Insider’s “38 Power Players of Consulting,” among numerous other awards. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and Seton Hall University School of Law.
Previously, Michele was the Chief People & Culture Officer for Major League Baseball, where she led the human resources, diversity and inclusion, and office operations functions.
“I have spent my entire career focused on efforts to support women and other underrepresented groups with achieving equal access and opportunities in the workplace,” she explained in an interview posted on Dress For Success’ website.
Michele said, “I am so impressed with the work and impact Joi and the team have had on adapting the organization to meet the needs of women during the pandemic. I am honored to be entrusted with this opportunity to build upon their work to make a positive difference for women around the world… I cannot be more excited to bring my professional experience, energy, and passion to help complement all the great work that Dress for Success has implemented over the past 25 years.”
As we welcome Michele, Alpha Sigma Tau thanks Joi Gordon for her support of our partnership with Dress for Success. Since the partnership’s inception in 2016, Joi has inspired AΣT members both in-person and virtually. Joi spoke at Alpha Sigma Tau’s 42nd National Convention and participated in multiple virtual events with our members.
We wish Joi the best of luck and welcome Michele.
