National Council – August 2024

August 6, 2024

  • The National Council discussed The Five Dysfunctions of Team model by Patrick Lencioni and how it applies to work in the Sorority.
  • The Council reviewed the Conflict of Interest and Whistleblower policies.
  • The Council discussed their upcoming in-person orientation schedule.

August 15-17, 2024

  • The National Council met for in-person orientation at the Sorority Headquarters office in Indianapolis, IN.
  • The Council kicked off the weekend discussing Simon Sinek’s “Start with Why” principle.
  • Several guests joined the Council over the weekend to provide overviews of different areas of Sorority operations.
  • Annmarie Novotney of Blue and Co. CPA firm presented an overview of the Sorority’s annual financial review process.
  • Cindy Stellhorn and Tiffany Maurovich of MJ Insurance joined the Council to provide an overview of the Sorority’s insurance program.
  • Dani Weatherford, Executive Director of the National Panhellenic Conference provided an overview of current events in the NPC.
  • The Council discussed a number of items on their operational plan, including timelines and training for committees, the All In for Alpha Tau campaign, the National Council and CEO evaluation timelines, and the 2024-2025 annual operating budget.
  • The Council also enjoyed fellowship with members of the Central Indiana Alumnae Chapter while visiting.

August 28, 2024

  • Drew Christian, Stephens Investment Broker, joined the National Council to provide an overview of the Sorority’s investment banking model. 
  • The National Council discussed council members’ interests in serving as ex-officio members and liaisons to standing and council committees.
  • The National Council adopted the governing documents revisions related to Member Support and Accountability process to align with the approved changes from the 45th National Convention.
  • The Council discussed plans to host the 2025 Excel Program.
