My name is Brandy Glover Pate and I have been an Alpha Sigma Tau Chapter Advisor for the past 18 years. I am a University of Central Arkansas 1996 graduate with Bachelor’s degree in science and a Master’s in occupational therapy. I have been a practicing occupational therapist in rehabilitation since college and spend my days rehabilitating those suffering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries and replacements, neurological head injuries, and cardiac procedures. It brings me great joy to assist in someone getting their life back and returning to their highest level of function. I also work in the clinical liaison role in recruiting patient’s to our facility in the admission process. I am proud to say that I love what I do and feel blessed that I have landed a career that impacts people daily. I am also the proud wife of Michael Pate, physical therapist and district manager for Incite Rehab, and beaming mother to Jordan Pate, 12 year old boy, and Caroline Pate, 9 year old girl and future Alpha Sigma Tau.

To give back to an organization that has impacted me for life was not a hard decision for me. I was blessed to join this Sorority in 1993 and have been an active alumna since graduating in 1996. It definitely has posed balancing acts to manage my family, my profession, and my collegians. However, the gift of relationships and vitality to service is well worth it all. I believe it is vital for an organization to have mentors and leaders within our organization that want Alpha Sigma Tau to succeed and want our college women to graduate stronger and full of purpose. I balance this by having a strong advising team and recognize I can not do it alone. I also recognize that I may not be perfect in all that I set out to do, but my first priority is the collegians. I mentor, shape, form relationships, and become their home away from home. I conduct leadership trainings and resume writing, and relish when they graduate almost as much as their parents do. I truly love my Upsilon women and the time sacrifice is 100% worth it. As we are building a Sorority house and taking our Greek life to a whole new level, I am greatly challenged by the fundraising and daily decision making that has to be done. However, I know that in August 2015, when I see their faces walking into the Alpha Sigma Tau home, this too will all be worth it.
