May 4, 2021

  • The National Council adopted language for inclusive Learning Environments, a Position Statement on Anti-Racism, and an Anti-Racism Policy.

May 18, 2021

  • The National Council received an update from the Sorority Advisory Committee and discussed the next steps for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
  • The National Council adopted the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year Operating Budget.

June 1, 2021

  • The National Council appointed the Governing Documents Committee.
  • The National Council adopted revisions to the National Council Norms.
  • The National Council adopted the Collegiate Chapter Accountability Task Force Charge.

June 15, 2021

  • The National Council adopted revisions to the Sweetheart Policy, Legacy Policy, and The Creed of Alpha Sigma Tau.
  • The National Council spent time advancing the efforts of the Sorority’s committees, including recruitment for the Collegiate Chapter Accountability Task Force, educational support for the Governing Documents Committee, and the DEI Committee Charge.

July 6, 2021

  • The National Council discussed phase two of the Excel Program Cohort.
  • The National Council performed their quarterly self-evaluation activity.

July 20, 2021

  • The National Council appointed the Collegiate Chapter Accountability Task Force.
  • The National Council discussed the Incumbent Report for the 44th National Convention.

August 3, 2021

  • The National Council appointed the Governing Documents Committee Chair.
  • The National Council discussed updates to the “Get on Board” presentation for members interested in serving on the National Council.

August 17, 2021

  • The National Council appointed the DEI Committee.
  • The National Council adopted a revision to the Standing Rules related to the Nominations Committee procedures.

September 16, 2021

  • The National Council discussed proposed legislation for the 44th National Convention.
  • The National Council conducted a review of progress with the Women’s Wellness Initiative partnerships.

September 28, 2021

  • Blue and Co, CPA Firm, representatives joined the National Council to present the fiscal year end 2021 reviewed financial statements and tax returns.

October 14, 2021

  • Erika McManus Bukva, Foundation President, provided an overview of the upcoming Founders Day of Giving event.

October 26, 2021

  • The National Council provided an update to the Sorority Advisory Committee.
  • The National Council adopted revisions to the Standing Rules related to Alumnae Chapters and Associations.

November 9, 2021

  • This meeting was canceled.

November 11-14, 2021

  • The National Council gathered in Indianapolis once again for their in-person meeting. A number of topics were covered over their two days together. In addition to their work, they enjoyed lunch with guest Dani Weatherford, Executive Director of the National Panhellenic Conference, who provided a brief update on issues facing the NPC.
  • During their time together, the Council reviewed in detail the current membership and financial status of the organization and the path forward in a post-COVID environment.
  • The Council conducted a quarterly self-evaluation activity.
  • The National Council discussed enhancements and clarifications to the DEI Committee Charge.
  • The National Council watched a recorded presentation of the Gallup Survey: Fraternities and Sororities Experiences and Outcomes and discussed how that information relates to current and future initiatives of the Sorority.
  • Erika Bukva, Foundation President, presented a detailed review of Founders Day of Giving and other updates from the Foundation.

November 23, 2021

  • The National Council discussed the operational plan for the DEI Committee to complete its charge.

December 9, 2021

  • Dr. Grace Henry joined the National Council to review DEI efforts to date and gather information to determine future paths of action for ongoing development of the Council.
  • The National Council reviewed progress on their operational plan.

December 21, 2021
