Alpha Sigma Tau Welcomes Four New Educational Consultants

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Alpha Sigma Tau is excited to welcome four new Educational Consultants for the 2016-2017 academic year: Emily Boockoff, Epsilon Sigma; Sarah Pinkerton, Delta Pi; Megan Smith, Gamma Rho; and Mackenzie Waters; Epsilon Gamma.

This marks an expansion in the number of Educational Consultants Alpha Sigma Tau has, and represents the Sorority’s commitment to robust chapter support. Educational Consultants work with assigned client chapters to provide coaching on chapter operations and management, membership growth and retention, organization development, and Sorority initiatives.

Emily Boockoff holds a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education and a bachelor of arts degree in English from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She was a founding member of Bridgewater’s Epsilon Sigma Chapter and served as the chapter’s first president for two terms. Emily was in the Departmental Honors program, and was active in Sigma Tau Delta (the English honor society) and Kappa Delta Pi (the education honor society). She also was re-chartering member of the Rho Nu chapter of Order of Omega, a leadership-based honors society for fraternity and sorority members.

Sarah Pinkerton holds a bachelor of science degree in biopsychology from Oglethorpe University (OU) in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the Delta Pi Chapter during the fall of her freshman year and served as the chapter’s Director of Finance, Director of New Member Education, and Illuminate Senior Class Facilitator during her collegiate years. She was inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi (a national leadership society) and served as the OU Dance Team Captain.

Megan Smith holds a bachelor of science degree in secondary education and Spanish from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. She served as the chapter’s Vice President of Growth and Chapter President. Megan also represented her chapter as a recruitment counselor. As a collegian, Megan was involved in Sigma Delta Pi and Kappa Delta Pi, the Spanish and education honor societies. She was also involved in Order of Omega. Additionally, Megan was a student ambassador and campus tour guide for the Undergraduate Admissions Office during her time at Seton Hall, and completed the University Leadership Fellows Program.

Mackenzie Waters has a bachelor of science degree in business economics from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. As an undergraduate, she worked for the Office of Student Life. She also held several officer and committee positions for the Epsilon Gamma Chapter including Director of Event Planning, Greek Week Chairman, Illuminate Senior Class Facilitator, Bylaws Revision Committee member, and Nominations Committee member. She also served as Vice President of Judicial for Armstrong’s College Panhellenic Council.

“We are delighted to welcome Emily, Sarah, Megan, and Mackenzie to the Chapter Services team,” said Angie Bong, Associate Executive Director of Member Services. “They each bring a unique skill set to the position, and I’m looking forward to the outstanding contributions they will make to both the National Organization and the chapters they serve.”

All four Educational Consultants started on July 11.
