Alpha Sigma Tau Welcomes Two Educational Consultants for the 2021-2022 Academic Year

Alpha Sigma Tau is excited to announce Gabby Nelson and Allyson Tolles have been hired to serve on the Sorority’s Headquarters Staff as Educational Consultants (ECs).

As Educational Consultants, Gabby and Allyson will support a select group of collegiate chapters with:

  • developing a strong operational foundation
  • prioritizing an intentional growth strategy
  • fostering a healthy and safe environment, and
  • cultivating positive relationships with alumnae, campus constituents, and the broader community

Due to COVID-19 precautions, Gabby and Allyson will work remotely with chapter officers and advisors in the fall 2021 semester. In-person visits will resume in the spring 2022 semester, pending safe travel conditions.

Meet our ECs

Gabby Nelson

Gabby Nelson (Epsilon Omicron 2017/Southern Indiana) grew up in the town of Troy, Illinois, about 20-minutes outside of St. Louis. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising. During her time as a collegiate member, Gabby held various roles, including Vice President of Member Development, Vice President of Growth, and various director positions.

In her free time, Gabby enjoys playing games and watching movies with her roommates. The group is currently on a quest to watch all Marvel movies in chronological order. A Harry Potter fan, Gabby enjoys spending time with her deaf rescue cat, Luna.

Allyson Tolles

A Massachusetts native, Allyson Tolles (Epsilon Sigma 2019/Bridgewater State) earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. Allyson joined Alpha Sigma Tau during her sophomore year and served the Sorority in multiple capacities, including Vice President of Growth.

Active in the broader campus community, Allyson held leadership positions in a number of campus organizations, including a community service organization (President), and the National Residence Hall Honorary (Vice President of Administration). She also served as an Orientation Leader, Student Security Officer, and Teacher’s Assistant for an introductory biology class.

In her free time, Allyson enjoys expressing herself creatively through painting, crafting, and practicing calligraphy. She also unwinds with playing the Sims and shopping at her favorite place in the world: Target.


Does being an EC sound interesting to you?

Each year, Alpha Sigma Tau hires members, typically recent graduates, for the Educational Consultant role. In normal circumstances, ECs travel across the country, visiting and building relationships with Alpha Sigma Tau chapter officers and advisors. Educational Consultants support chapter leaders in creating an exceptionally positive Alpha Sigma Tau experience for members.
